Carine Buchanan
Creative Director
Carine was born in France and grew up near Paris. Her time spent in the French capital informed her taste for art, culture, architecture and design but also open-plan spaces and light-filled interiors.
Starting her career in business development, Carine worked in the design industry in London for several prestigious international companies, before retraining in interior design and visual merchandising. After working in the industry for several years, she started her freelancing career in art direction and styling.
In a short time, Carine has developed a reputation for her unique vision and imaginative design. She transfers her natural talent for mixing cultures and genres into every project. Research is a big part of her work and starts every project with a clean slate.
In 2020, she co-founded Studio Circulaire, and currently works from the UK.
James Oaten
Creative Director
Starting his career as a professional photographer in 2009, James has built a diverse client base, shooting for clients including OMK Design, Transport for London, the Post Office, Cyclist Magazine, The Simple Things magazine and many others.
His work covers a range of subjects, from portraiture, product, design, interiors, and sports photography, using his clean, graphic style on location and in a studio setting.
Since 2015, he has added writing to his repertoire of skills, providing copywriting support to a variety of organisations, as well as delivering a high standard of press and PR work for Tinkoff Pro Cycling, BORA-hansgrohe professional cycling team, and three-time cycling world champion, Peter Sagan.
Co-founding Studio Circulaire with Carine Buchanan in 2020 provides both with the opportunity to deliver the highest standard of work, whatever the medium.
